Specialist certificates in English and ESL, Ontario Ministry of Education. Secondary teaching qualifications in Ontario and New York State.
Experience
I started my career in a tutorial program, then taught for over 20 years in secondary classrooms, and finally moved back to private tutoring of both teens and adults. I have also done teacher and tutor training - and most recently given a paper on one-on-one teaching at an ESL conference. I currently teach part time in an English language school, but have time for helping students privately. I love tutoring! It is a pleasure to work quietly with each student in accordance with his or her needs, strengths, and personality and see the difference our sessions can have. I specialize in English and ESL, including TOEFL prep. In addition, I have advanced French skills and have tutored French as well.
